At the EHCCC Insel­spi­tal Bern we treat chil­dren with con­gen­i­tal bleed­ing disorders caused by a lack of coag­u­la­tion fac­tors, espe­cial­ly chil­dren with hemo­phil­ia A, hemo­phil­ia B, Von Wille­brand syn­drome and oth­er rare fac­tor defi­cien­cy dis­eases, or by con­gen­i­tal platelet dys­func­tion (throm­bo­cy­topathies). As a cen­tre of the high­est lev­el of care CCC (Com­pre­hen­sive Care Cen­tre), our mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team offers com­pre­hen­sive inte­grat­ed care for affect­ed chil­dren, adults and car­ri­ers.

Patients with con­gen­i­tal bleed­ing ten­den­cy dis­eases who enter the Insel­spi­tal through the Children’s Emer­gency Cen­tre are cared for in con­sul­ta­tion with the Med­ical Offi­cer of the Uni­ver­si­ty Clin­ic for Pae­di­atric Hema­tol­ogy.
The reg­u­lar con­sul­ta­tion of patients with con­gen­i­tal hemo­sta­sis disorders dur­ing the hemo­phil­ia con­sul­ta­tion hours is an impor­tant con­tri­bu­tion to a patient-ori­ent­ed and cost-effec­tive treat­ment and guar­an­tees them the lat­est infor­ma­tion in con­nec­tion with their treat­ment.
